There are SO many drum machine sounds I could list here (TR-909 kick drums, TR-808 kick drums – the almighty TR-808 woodblock!) but most of these sounds can play amazing and subtle roles in a song. But the second you drop a TR-909 open hat into a song – that is all you hear. About 15-20 years ago this was a MUST sound in any 4/4 dance tune. But that was nearly 2 decades ago!
